Did Someone Say Something?

There's one thing that really, really gets on my nerves. And that's being ignored. For example, someone will ask a question, I'll try my best to answer it as correctly and succinctly as possible. But they'll just ignore it. Or I'll spend ages getting somewhere to help people out and they don't inform me that they no longer need my help. I don't know what it is about me that makes people not hear what I'm saying. Am I boring? Just not worth listening to? Because damned near everyone does it. Getting seriously pissed off about it.

Bad Wolf

The last few episodes of Doctor Who have been absolutely incredible. In fact pretty much all of this whole series has been really entertaining to watch. I never used to like Doctor Who that much but I'm really hooked now. I think the producers of the show have created something really brilliant since David Tennant became the Doctor. Catherine Tate also makes a good companion, even though it did seem like an odd choice at the beginning.

The thing that really makes me love this series is the constant cameo appearances from old characters. Next week's episode is no exception, it's got everything and everyone in it: The Daleks, Torchwood, Sarah Jane, Rose Tyler, the list goes on. I really can't wait to see it. I have a feeling that there aren't many episodes of the current series left though. I don't know what I'm going to do without my weekly fix of Doctor Who /cry.

The current season of dramas in Japan is also drawing to a close. There's only been two dramas of interest to me this time. One is Zettai Kareshi which I absolutely love. It's got such a brilliant cast and story. Plenty of funny moments and heart-warming scenes. I'll be really sad to see it end. The second drama is Hokaben which I haven't seen much of yet. The subtitles are quite slow for this series and it has a rather heavy storyline. I'll probably still be watching through it slowly during the next couple of months.

As for the summer season, I've picked out a few series to try out when they're released. At first glance there aren't many that appeal to me but I'm hopeful that I'll find at least one that'll hook me. I've noticed that a lot of my favourite actors and actresses aren't in any of them so that may be a factor. There should be the special of Hanazakari no Kimitachi E to look forward to at least. We'll see how it goes.

Saki Toku

Found this cute little advert for JAL on YouTube. It features Aibu Saki from Attention Please wearing her JAL uniform. I just found the song to be incredibly catchy. The dancing by the guy was pretty awesome too /laugh.

I think Japanese adverts are the best in the world. They're always so bright and jolly, it's great. I could watch them all day.

Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin

After many months of hearing absolutely nothing from Student Finance Direct, I've finally received my Final Notification letter from them. I can't believe it took a whole week to get delivered to me. Seriously, Second Class post doesn't take that long does it? Oh well, I've got it now and that's all that matters. I was really happy to see that I'm getting the full loan and grant for university. All I have to do is sign the declaration and I'll get my money after enrolling in September.

That's one less thing to worry about now. I've still got to hear from the university about my accommodation. I've sent them the signed contract along with the reservation fee for the room. Hopefully, everything will be fine and I'll get news of my moving in day, key collection details, etc. quite soon. Once that's all sorted it'll be plain sailing to September.

I recently opened a bank account with Halifax. It's a really basic account. And when I say basic I really mean basic. You can't even use the branch counters to pay in money to your account. I don't really have much choice though as my credit rating is pretty bad and they rejected my application for a student account. I'm going to use this basic account for awhile and then see about upgrading at a later date.

Meanwhile, the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship has just started and I've been watching the opening matches. There aren't any teams from the UK or Ireland taking part this year due to our dire performances. The upside to this is that we won't have to worry about being disappointed by another crappy England team. My money is on Portugal to win the tournament. They looked very slick in their opening match against Turkey.
