Too Far Away

It's just like the good old days; I'm so busy playing Final Fantasy XI that I never have the energy to update my blog any more. There have been a few things I wanted to write about though. Since I've already mentioned FFXI, I might as well start there. I've currently reached level 54 with my Corsair. Unfortunately I've also run out of money so there won't be any more levelling for a little while. I bought my first piece of AF and that used up most of my funds. The rest are too expensive to consider yet. I've resorted to levelling my second character, Tanakacchi (nickname of Tanaka Reina) to quest the Ninjustu/Teleport scrolls for money. It's progressing quite quickly though, I've managed to get my sub job with help from Xyv, Darklinks and Rylet, and reached level 20 on Warrior. I'm in the process of farming Yagudo Bead Necklaces now for Norg fame. The trouble is that I'll need to get hold of a Kazham airship pass soon which might be a pain. Apart from that I've not really been doing much else. I've been feeling a little distant from the linkshell as of late. It's happened before; the feeling of being alone in the crowd. I'm not really sure about some of the new members, they've yet to prove to me that they're a benefit to the linkshell. Perhaps I'm judging a bit too harshly, the memories of previous members are hard to live up to. I'll try and cheer up. Perhaps that'll happen when I've got some money again /laugh.

I haven't had chance to watch any more episodes of 'Hotelier' yet, even though I've got them on my hard disk. I'm saving them for when I'm bored and have no FFXI to play. I watched the first episode of 'Liar Game' after reading about it on D-Addicts. It's an intriguing drama, though I'm still not quite sure about if it's any good or not. The premise of the story is that Kanzaki Nao (played by Touda Erika) is the most trusting/gullible girl in the world. One day she comes home to find a black box containing 100 million yen outside her door. Included inside is a video tape informing her that she's now a participant in the 'Liar Game' - a game where you must try and obtain your opponent's 100 million within 30 days. There are no restrictions of the methods that this can be achieved. The twist is that after 30 days, the organisers of the game will retrieve exactly 100 million yen from each contestant. Any money on top of that 100 million is yours to keep. However, if you have been conned out of your 100 million then they will consider it your debt and make you pay it back through any means necessary. The premise sounds good on paper, but I found that it didn't quite work on screen. Perhaps it was the fault of the director, or it could be the actors themselves, I'm not really sure. It remind me of the drama 'Trick' starring Nakama Yukie from 'Gokusen'. I don't think it's as good though, at least not from watching the first episode. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue watching the rest of it or not. Maybe I should give it another chance.

2007 may be the 10 year anniversary of Morning Musume, but it's trying ever so hard to make it the last. So many upsets have happened already, and the year is only halfway through. First we had announcement of Yoshizawa Hitomi's graduation, and then the news of her brother's death. After that came the Kago Ai dismissal, followed by Tsuji Nozomi's pregnancy. Now we have another incident involving new leader Fujimoto Miki. A story reported in the Friday magazine (the same one that reported Kago's smoking and Yaguchi Mari's relationship) has revealed that Fujimoto was seen spending several days with a man called Shouji. This scandal closely resembles the one about Yaguchi Mari which ultimately ended in her quitting the group. However, Fujimoto has not denied the rumours and has even gone so far as admitting them on a radio show. Such blatant disregard for Morning Musume (who she's supposed to be the leader of) really annoys me. I've always considered Fujimoto to be my least favourite member. He outspoken attitude gets on my nerves, and from the day she joined it never seemed like she took it seriously. Now she goes adds to Morning Musume's troubles by dating this guy. Stupid girl.

As if that wasn't bad enough, we've now got rumours of Kago Ai's intention to do a nude photo shoot. Whether there's any truth to these speculations is unknown at present, however, it wouldn't surprise me if it did turn out to be true. That girl has seriously lost her marbles. After all the upset she's caused in the past, she continues to tarnish the reputation of Hello! Project and her former friends. She needs to get a grip and sort out her obviously troubled life.

Tsuiteru Ne, Notteru Ne

Yatta ze! Finally, after 7 weeks of waiting for YesAsia to order a copy, I've finally received my Tanaka Reina Alo-Hello! Photo book. It's every bit as good as I was expecting it to be. The quality of the paper it's printed on is superb. The only thing which I think could have made it better would have been to make it a hardback but it's not a big deal. The front cover has cute picture of Reina wearing a orange bikini, leaning on what must be the world's biggest hammock. Both here and throughout the book she looks absolutely stunning. This being an Alo-Hello! (all of the Alo-Hello! photos are shot on location in Hawaii) there are plenty of bikini shots. However, I think my favourite outfit is the white and yellow top with pink polka-dot skirt that can be seen on the picture with the bike. And no, it's not because the skirt is so short!

There are plenty of pictures where Reina's pretty little feet can be seen, which was nice /laugh (/wink /wink). The photo book comes with a 'making-of DVD' which contains a short collection of clips from the photo shoot. It's just a short 'behind the scenes' showing Reina posing for the photos and stuff. It's only about 10 minutes long but it's a nice little bonus. Overall it's a excellent purchase. I'm thinking of ordering either Tanaka Reina's 'Shojo-R' or Ogawa Makoto's 'Natsu no Uta' when I get more money. I think it would be wise to get the one that was published the earliest. Trying to find books when they've gone out of print is a pain. It also takes a bloody long time. I'll see how much they both cost and then decide. For now I'll have countless hours of pure Reina heaven! /happy

In FFXI news (been awhile since I've been able to say that) I've reached level 46 on Corsair despite not having the best of luck with party invites. I'm still just about managing to support my spending through a little bit of crafting. I decided that it would be a wise idea to use all my Anniversary Ring on levelling Corsair so that I can save money. The AF is going to cost me a little bit of money when I get to level 50 so any saving I can do now would be useful. Some dipstick is driving up the prices of the bullets though so it's not going to make my life any easier. Perhaps I'd better stick to the cheaper level 22 bullets all the way to 60, instead of switching up to the level 50 bullets as I planned. The damage difference isn't that much I guess. I'll see how things go.

After the last lot of Assaults that I did on Monday, I've managed to get enough points to purchase the Amir Dirs. My thanks go to Siraji, Ophidian and Electricgirl (Carmon) for helping me that day. It's been a long, hard road to this piece of armour, but I'm so happy I've got it at last. The outfit still doesn't quite match so next up will be the Amir Boots, which is the first piece of this armour that really benefits me in terms of stats. Hopefully I'll be able to return to a more regular schedule for the assaults so I can make a start on the next gruelling 20,000. Lord have mercy!

With the return of the internet comes the return of Japanese dramas! All right! The series I've decided to watch this season is called 'Hotelier' and stars Ueto Aya. It's primarily because she's in it that I chose to watch it. I enjoy watching her acting and so far I haven't seen a bad drama that she's starred in. This time she plays Odagiri Kyoko, an Assistant Manager at a luxury hotel called Tokyo Ocean Hotel. The story concerns the hotel and its management, and how it's under threat from take-over by a scrupulous business tycoon. The cast is a plethora of well known drama actors. I can't count the number of faces that I've recognised while watching this series. One star of particular significance is Bae Yong Joon (or Yon-sama as his fans call him) who was in 'Winter Sonata' - a massively popular drama. So far Hotelier is not quite as good as its cast list would make you believe. Most of the first two episodes moved quite slowly and there was a lot of scenario setting. I'm confident it will get better as the series goes on though, so I'm going to continue watching.

P.S. I've also found out that there's a two-hour special of 1 Litre of Tears that got released in April. I've yet to find a subtitled version but I'm told it'll be released eventually. I can't wait!

Dancing Hero

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! My prayers have been answered at last. I've been granted an internet connection which means I can play Final Fantasy XI again. I've been able to borrow my sister's boyfriend's university network for a few days. I spent half of Tuseday and all of Wednesday gorging myself on the meaty goodness of FFXI. I got a party with my Corsair and got to level 42. Then I completed my Corsair's AF weapon quest with a little help from Zansho. I also managed to get some Assaults done with Siraji and Ophidian. We did Golden Salvage three times and it took hardly any time at all. It's hard to believe that I was about to have a mental breakdown over that mission only a few months ago. Everything is so simple and straightforward now. I got 1,210 points for each completion which means I only need four more missions to get my Amir Dirs. I'm hoping to get those done on Monday.

One thing I'd forgotten about was how poor I was when I left. I'm still struggling to make any sort of income in the game. I've stumbled across a recipe for Shinobi Tabi so I'm making them. They make me a decent profit overall and sell quite fast. Zansho, Siraji and I also did a BCNM60 in Giddeus a few times. We were after the Penitents Rope which sells for around 400,000. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, we only managed to get 1/4. We're going to split the money when it sells. I wouldn't mind trying that BCNM again sometime. I'd also like to get some more missions done. Something like ToAU15 – The Black Coffin, or perhaps PM2-5 with the Mammets. It'd be great to restart Promathia missions again. I'll see what sort of support I can get tomorrow.

Kireina Senretsu

Well, in the words of someone from an old television commercial (one which I can't remember the name of the product it advertised), I “wasn't expecting that”! What the hell is it with 2007? It seems to be the year for surprises, both good and bad. I was totally not expecting a new expansion pack for Final Fantasy XI so soon after the previous one. It doesn't seem that long ago that Aht Urhgan was released. I haven't even completed half of the missions for it yet. Hell, I've not even completed Chains of Promathia yet (isn't my fault it's so stupidly biased to certain jobs /grumble)! The new expansion, titled Wing of the Goddess, is due for release in the winter of this year. That means that they're going to be tying up the storyline to Aht Urhgan pretty soon. Obviously details are a bit sketchy at the moment concerning Wings of the Goddess, but it seems a strong time travelling element is present. Speculation amongst the forums is that it will be set around the time of the Crystal War. Screenshots which have been released by Square-Enix show various places such as Rolanberry Fields before they were ruined by the war. Whatever the setting, I'm betting it's going to be awesome. I really hope that it's not like CoP in terms of missions though. Restrictive gameplay: (|No, thanks.|) as it were.

While I'm on the subject of FFXI, I've been dreaming of all the stuff I'm going to do when I finally return. I've been considering a marathon week where I play 23.5 hours a day for 7 days (the half an hour is for sleep, obviously). OK, perhaps not that ridiculously devoted but I'm definitely going to be making up for lost time. I've compiled a small list of things which are top of the agenda:

1.) Take part in the Adventurer Appreciation campaign;
2.) Get a merit party with my Samurai and go insane with skillchains;
3.) Complete some Assaults in Ilrusi Atoll and get my Amir Dirs;
4.) Level my Corsair and bust out some Quick Draws for fun;
5.) Complete some more missions.

There are plenty more things that I'd like to do when I get back but those are the main ones. I'm praying that it won't be too long until I get to do them. Praise be to Altana!

Wings Of The Goddess!!

Oh dear Lord!! A new expansion pack for Final Fantasy XI has been announced already!!! Holy mother of Pearl! I'll write more about it when I get chance to digest the information.

Sotsugyou Shashin

Oops! I've forgotten to report two pieces of significant news in the Morning Musume world. Firstly, at the concert held on the 6th May, fourth generation member Yoshizawa Hitomi formally graduated from the group. Having been in Morning Musume for seven years it makes her one of the longest serving members. With her goes the final legacy of the golden age of the third and fourth generations. Sixth generation member Fujimoto Miki has taken over from Yossi as the leader, with fifth generation member Takahashi Ai as sub-leader. It's sad to see Yossi leave after so many years but she's been truly wonderful during that time. From her awesome Ganko Ittestu character in the skits, to her lead role in the Mr Moonlight video. She was undoubtedly the girl who I was most attracted to when I first discovered Morning Musume. I haven't heard anything about her leaving Hello! Project completely so it's possible we'll see her again fairly soon. I'm not really sure about her solo prospects, she doesn't seem the type of person to strike out on her own. Perhaps Tsunku will form a new group around her. Whatever happens, I'll always support her. Gambare Yossi!

The second, more shocking news, is the sudden announcement of Tsuji Nozomi's marriage and pregnancy. To say this came as a bit of a shock would be an understatement. It's kind of like seeing your younger sister getting married off or something. She's only 19 years old and she's going to be a mother. It's really weird to think of her as a parent. No doubt she'll have the full support of her fans, although I can't help feel this has come too soon after the Kago Ai scandal. At least this affair has been handled a lot more professionally. The man she's engaged to is none other than the actor who plays Ultraman. I guess if you're going to marry anyone it may as well be him /laugh. Good luck to her, I hope she's very happy in her new life. I hope we'll still see her around in the future.

Just a couple of signatures I decided to make while I had some free time. I expect I'll be making quite a few of these in the days to come...

Watashi Wa Gatsudoru!

I bought The Karate Kid today from Woolworths for £3. I imagine it's not really very cool to say you like that film but I do! It's a blast from the past. A classic film for all the family. And most importantly; it's got Mr Miyagi in it!!! That should be good enough for anyone. I'm not sure if I've ever stated this before but I worship Miyagi-san. I think he's pure genius personified. Seeing Miyagi-san kicking punk arse is a joy to behold. If it weren't for him I don't think the film would have been anywhere as good as it was. Truly a legend. I don't think I'll need to review the story in much detail. I assumed that pretty much anyone would know it. But for those of you who don't, here's a short summary: boy moves to California, boy meets girl, boy gets beaten up because of girl, Miyagi-san kicks some punk-arse, Miyagi-san teaches boy Karate, boy kicks punk-arse, boy gets girl, the end. All the ingredients for a good film! I give it 8/10.

I also Pirates of the Carribean 2 today. I had enjoyed the first film, somewhat. I found the sequel to be just as good as the original. The story revolves around Jack Sparrow trying to find a chest belonging to Davy Jones. Apparently Davy Jones has come to collect the debt owe to him by Jack Sparrow for the Pearl. William is also looking for Jack Sparrow in order to free Elizabeth from prison. The film was a lot longer than I expected. You'd expect most Hollywood films to be short and sweet (excluding the ridiculous anomalies that are the Lord of the Rings trilogy that is) but this one was over 2 hours long. There were some pretty funny moments and plenty of action sequences. I think most of the original cast returns. It even has the obligatory shock ending that sets up the story for the next film. Film makers have no subtly these days... I rate it a solid 7/10 - good for a couple hours of entertainment.

I made a new signature for Xanthion. I figure that my skills have improved since I made the first one and that it was time for an update. Hope you like it. In other news, I can't get that damned USB DVB-T thing to work. It can't pick up any channels whether I'm using the portable aerial or a roof-mounted one. Thankfully it didn't cost me too much, and I'm trying to see if I can't get a refund from the seller. It's kind of worrying though. My purchases from eBay have been a little crappy recently. Maybe I'm becoming a little too complacent. I'll stick to my trusted Morning Musume CD sellers from Japan from now on. Speaking of Morning Musume, YesAsia have finally (after a whole month of waiting) managed to find a copy of the photo book I ordered. It should be sent out to me pretty soon, I can't wait. It's the latest photobook of Tanaka Reina from Morning Musume. I know what you're thinking... I should be locked up. A photo book full of pervy bikini shots of a 17-year old girl! To that I say, feh! Reina will keep me warm in those cold prison cells...

PS. Yes, I'm a perv.

Just Go!

What a bargain! I knew that £3 for a film was a good deal but I didn't realise how good of a deal it was. I'm referring to my purchases of The Interpreter and The Pianist a few days ago. I've just watched them and I'm so pleased I bought them. Firstly, The Interpreter was a great thriller film. This was in fact the film that I thought the Constant Gardener was. This one is a hundred times better though. It stars Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn and it's about a plot to assassinate the leader of a small African country in the UN building. One night, when Nicole's character goes back to collect some belongings from an interpreter's booth, she overviews the conversation between two people. They were talking about killing the president of Motobo, a dictator called Edward Zuwaine. She eventually reports the incident to the UN security force and they call in US Secret Service to investigate. Amongst them is Sean Penn's character whose wife had died in a car accident only a couple of weeks prior. At first he is suspicious of her and believes that she's lying. But they realise the gravity of the threat when Nicole becomes a target for the assassins. Sean ends up having to protect her and at the same time race against time to find who the assassins are. The whole thing makes for engrossing viewing. I loved Nicole and Sean's acting and thought that the story was well thought out. I would give it a 8/10.

The second film, The Pianist, was an absolute classic. I can't believe that I've waited this long to watch it. It's a harrowing tale of survival in the hell that was the Nazi suppression of the Jews in Poland. It's based on the true story of Wladyslaw Szpilman who was a Jew that survived the Nazi occupation. The film spans the whole of the Second World War and depicts the horrors that occurred during that time. You see as Wladyslaw and his family are gradually get treated worse and worse by the Nazis. Until finally they deport over 440,000 Jews off to the concentration camps. Wladyslaw manages to survive thanks the quick action of an acquaintance. His whole family aren't so lucky, however, and are transported to their death. Wladyslaw then has to use his passion for music to enable him to survive until the end of the war when the Russians liberate Poland. We see how he has to go from place to place, constantly in hiding. Thankfully he gets the help of many people who are against the Nazis. He even receives the help of a Nazi officer near the end of the war thanks to his talents playing the piano. The whole film is a chilling reminder of the terrible events on WWII but it also carries a feeling of hope. The hope of one man's survival against all odds. It's a film everyone should watch – 10/10.

Lords And Ladies

So far so boring. Just got back from a quick wander around the town centre. Went to HMV and looked for a few things. Was trying to find the 5th volume of Escaflowne. I've been watching the first four volumes the last couple of days. I really would like to finish the series sometime. Unfortunately they didn't have it in stock. It's been awhile since I last saw it for sale actually. Looks like I may have to order it online. One thing I'm really regretting now is not buying the season two box set of House when it was on sale for only £12. It's gone back up to the normal price of £50 now. Piece of sod. Oh well, I bought The Interpreter and The Pianist for £3 each from Woolworths. I was severely tempted to buy the Karate Kid for the same price of £3 but decided against it. Maybe next time.

Surprisingly they had postal deliveries today and guess what turned up in the mail? My USB TV tuner! I'm trying to get it to work at the moment but unfortunately it doesn't seem to want to. I think it's installed properly and everything but it won't pick up an channels. I'm hoping that the reason it won't is because of the crappy portable antenna it came packaged with. I'll have to buy a better one tomorrow and test again. Meanwhile, out of interest (or perhaps insanity) I've decided to keep a "Final Fantasy XI Thoughts Tally". That is a tally of how many times FFXI pops into my head without warning. It might or might not be interesting to see the results.

Jingo

God, it's severely boring today. I woke up at 10am and I've been sitting around doing nothing all day. I was planning to go into town to take a look around the shops but it's kind of downcast today. It even rained for a few minutes earlier. The worst part is that tomorrow will probably end up being the same /sigh. It's a bank holiday Monday too so the library won't be open. Neither will there be any post being delivered so I won't receive my TV tuner which means no TV. Some of the shops might be open in the town centre though so I guess I could venture out for a quick bit of window shopping. As for the evening, damned if I know what I'll be doing. I've pretty much exhausted my stock of DVDs and there's only so many times you can watch the same four Haromoni episodes in one day.

I guess I could read. One salvation I have is in the form of Terry Pratchet books. I've known of his work for years now, a few of my friends used to worship his stuff back in school. I was never that interesting in reading them at the time. Simply out of boredom I decided to hire three of his books out from the library to see what they were like. I was happy to find that they're exactly the type of fiction I like to read. When I was younger I used to enjoy reading books by an author called Brian Jacques. His books always involved a mystical world inhabited by various animals that could talk and fight and do all the things mostly associated with humans. My favourite was a mouse called Martin the Warrior who was a central character in a lot of the books. Although Terry Pratchet's work doesn't feature casts of talking animals, it does feature some very funny and interesting characters.

So far I've read 'Interesting Times' and 'Sourcery'. At first I thought all the books were only related by the fact that they were all set in Discworld. However, it seems that there appear to be some reappearing characters who are central to the world. One in particular is a wizard called Rincewind. He's not an awfully good wizard, and has a habit of running away a lot but he does have a certain charm about him. In 'Sourcery' there was a girl called Conina I became particularly fond of. I found her fighting prowess and intelligence to be an attractive trait. Not to mention the sharp wit and dry humour which made Conina a favourite of mine. I'm betting there are loads more intriguing characters to be found in the rest of Terry Pratchet's books. Ones which I shall hope to discover soon as I'll be devouring plenty of them in the coming weeks.

Sourcery

Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least. I drank a whole 4 pints of alcohol in the form of Strongbow (I think it's a cider but I could be wrong) /shock! While that may seem a pitiful amount to the average drinker (or most human beings) it was a fair amount for me - someone who hasn't drank anything remotely alcoholic for over 3 years. It was probably a good idea on my part then to alternate between Strongbow and Pepsi. Saved my liver and kidneys from the horrors of chemical warfare. I still don't see the attraction of alcohol. Even though it tasted like Lucozade for the split second the bubbles hit your tastebuds, it was nowhere near as good once the real taste appeared. I would much prefer to enjoy a nice cup of tea or soft drink. And my wallet would agree with me.

Despite my adversion to drinking, however, it still turned out to be an enjoyable outing... for the most part. I arrived as arranged at midday at the first pub on our planned itinerary. Only my friend Fos was there initially. He'd grown considerably more facial hair since I last saw him but it was still the same old Fos. We got some drinks and went outside to enjoy the sunshine in the beer garden. Shortly after Kenna showed up with a birthday present for Fos but forbid him from opening it until our other friend, Dave, arrived. Which he did a few minutes later with a present for Kenna that turned out to be a copy of a Charles Dickens book with a key inside. I was informed that this was some referrence to the TV series 'Lost' but I wouldn't know. That series is too pompous for its own good so I tend to avoid watching it. After this we finally got to see what the mystery present was that Kenna has brought. It was a tube of some sort and it was suggested that there was a 'toy' for female 'entertainment' inside. Alas it was just a simple poster, but a pretty cool poster. It was a hand-drawn on computer picture of Fos with a couple of ladies draped over him while he was holding a pint. Good stuff.

Fos's brother Mike turned up a little while later. What can I say about Mike? He's possibly the most insane person I've ever met, and that's when he's sober. Once he'd got a few JD's and Coke down him he was an unstoppable force of tomfoolery. It was safe to say that he was definitely the life and soul of the party wherever he went. He could also come up with statements that would make a seasoned brothel girl blush in embarrassment. I can't really give any examples on here as it would surely end up with my blog being banned /laugh. For people who aren't too easily offended though he's a cool guy to hang around with. Hard to believe that him and Fos are related though...

We worked through the next few pubs as various people turned up (I'm hopeless at remembering names though so I can't name them all): three of Kenna's friends from Cambridge, I think one guy was called Hokim; Jen, girlfriend of my friend Lamb who couldn't make it to the pub crawl; Lorna, another friend I knew from school; and Phil and his girlfriend (can't remember, sorry ; ;). We commandeered several tables of Whetherspoons for a few hours while we got some much needed food. The service was kind of crappy though, Fos and Hokim's orders took over an hour to turn up. Looking back we really should have complained but I don't think we were really in the mood. Everyone was enjoying themselves. Especially Mike who, due to a drinking contest with Fos, was now very hyper /laugh.

After the meal Phil and Jen parted company and we moved onto the next pub. We had a few games of pool in there. I managed to lose a couple of times despite clearing most of my colours quickly. I seem to have a knack for letting the win slip out of my grasp. After this Dave and Phil's girlfriend left and the rest of us moved onto the last two pubs on the list. The penultimate one wasn't much to talk about, it was heavily crowded and didn't have anywhere for us to sit down. The last one, however, wasn't so much as a pub than a nightclub. From the music played at deafening levels to the hordes of people dancing to disco balls. At least the music they played was pretty decent. Whilst ordering drinks I had the distinct impression that someone was 'gyrating' behind me. Mike who was standing in front of me kept giving me strange looks and I couldn't bring myself to turn around /laugh. Once everyone had got their drinks Mike, Kenna, Hokim and Fos all got up on a small stage and started grooving to the music. At one point a woman even got up on the stage and started dancing with Fos but for some reason she left kind of disappointed. Nevermind, at least he managed to get the attention of a weird guy sitting on the next table /laugh /laugh.

The night was winding down now and Mike left at around 9:45pm. I decided to call it a night too at 10pm as the club wasn't really my scene. I said my goodbyes to everyone, even managing to smashed a beer glass on the floor like a pillock whilst giving Lorna a hug. I swiftly exited the place for fear of retribution and made my way home. It was a bit of a crappy end to the night, not the least because some sod-git set off the fire alarm for a laugh around 11pm. Everyone had to evacuate until the firemen came and gave the all clear. I swear some people need their hands, and preferrably their brains, amputated. Anyway, shortly after reading some more of a book I fell asleep. Despite the less than perfect ending I can say that I enjoyed the whole pub crawl. It was cool to see all the old guys again and mess around like we used to in school. I hope we can meet up again soon, though not too soon because I don't think my finances would allow it /laugh.

PS. I do have a few more comments about the night but I won't publish them on here because I fear the consequences it would have /laugh.

Interesting Times

The weather has been glorious the last couple of weeks. Except for one day of rain it's been non-stop sunshine everyday. It certainly feels like summer is here already. Such a shame that I don't have my bike with me or I'd be going out for a ride every morning. Looks like the sunny weather is going to continue well into June and July though so I have plenty of time. I'm praying everything will be sorted out by the end of this month at the very latest. The whole situation is really becoming a bit of a drag. I don't even have TV to watch so I'm missing a lot of my favourite shows. I won a TV tuner on eBay yesterday though so that dilemma should be resolved pretty soon. Hopefully it'll arrive before the bank holiday on Monday.

I'm attending a pub crawl on Saturday with some old friends I used to go to school with. It's in celebration of a couple of birthdays that fall on the 4th and 5th. I haven't seen everyone for a couple of years so it'll be good to meet up with everyone again. It should be great fun but I hope I don't end up spending too much money. They're planning to start from one end of the town and work there way towards the town centre. I doubt I'll be able to stay for the whole journey but you never know. I think it'll be the first time I've drunk any alcohol since I last saw them. I'd better exercise some restraint or I may end up unable to walk by the end of the night /laugh.

I saw that they're going to have the 5th Adventurer Appreciation campaign on FFXI starting on the 11th. It celebrates the 5th anniversary of the game's release and they're going to be giving away some special items. I need to find a way to get back to the game for this event, even if it kills me! There's even going to be another update in June. I don't think I've ever missed so much play time in two years. I bet everything's changed inside the linkshell. I hope everyone I know is still there. No doubt there'll be some new faces to meet when I get back. One thing is for sure, I don't think you'll be physically able to tear me away from the keyboard once I get back to Vana'diel. I'm going to weld backside to the chair and seal myself inside a safe. Anyone who wishes to disturb me better have some life insurance.
