It seems like 2007 is turning into a crap-tastic year. Some rather unwelcome news yesterday revealed that Kago Ai had formally had her contract with UFA terminated. This comes only a day after a photograph of her with a much older man was published in a weekly gossip magazine. It was also revealed that she had once again been caught smoking; the exact same crime she was suspended for a year ago. On top of all this the magazine reported that she had been seen spending a night with the man at an onsen (hot springs). After all these revelations it perhaps came as no surprise that UFA finally called it a day and let her go. The dream of her finally returning to the stage after a year of suspension is over. This news is particularly devastating to fans because only a few weeks earlier she had been interviewed by the same magazine that published the latest scandal. In this interview she had given the impression that she was looking forward to coming back to the limelight. Whether this was all lies is unknown. What we do know is that she no longer wishes to be an idol. Otherwise she would surely have been more careful with her activities. Had the year of suspension not taught her anything? I for one am very disappointed in her. If she had merely wanted to quit the music industry there are better and more dignified ways of doing it. I wish her all the best but I can't help but feel this was the biggest mistake Kago Ai has made. It surely cannot get any worse this year, can it...?
